How to : Promote your stuff on Twitter and get more traffic..??

You must have heard many people saying that they use twitter to promote their stuff.. But you must be wondering how do they ever do it..?? Even I used to have the same question on my mind.. I tried tweeting my links on twitter.. But here was no difference in my traffic.. There was something missing which I didn't know and my friends did.. What was it..??

It's simple.. What I used to do was just tweet my link.. But I should have done something more.. What is it..?? Adding a hash tag.. Yes, adding a hash tag makes a lot of difference.. I added a link to my hash tag and the next thing I see is that I got about 40 views in just 5 minutes..! That was really fascinating.. Now, even I use twitter to promote my stuff.. Would you give it a try..??

For people who don't know what's a hash tag and how to add it, here's is it.. A hashtag is similar to other web tags- it helps add tweets to a category.. Hashtags have the 'hash' or 'pound' symbol (#) preceding the tag, like so: #traffic, #followfriday, #hashtag. You can add a hash tag anywhere in your tweet.. See the pic for an example..!
