The two major leading operators in the country, Tata tele-services and Reliance communications announced the launch of "push email service on SMS".. This service is available to all the GSM and CDMA subscribers on networks on Tata and reliance..



How do you do it..??
The subscribers have to configure their e-mail ID's through the service operators, who in turn will access the e-mail, copy it, and push it to your handset as an SMS..

Benefits :

• Low cost..
• Access to major email service providers like Yahoo, Google or Hotmail..
• Eliminates need of expensive data plans or the need for high end GPRS enables phones..
• You can compose, reply,delete and filter e-mails..
  

Disadvantages:

• Attachments from the emails cannot be received..
• Cannot access emails from official ID's received through Outlook Express etc..

• 0.50 paisa for every SMS sent to the short code
